My Story

Eli Sterling Laguerre was born on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Léogâne Holy Cross Hospital—just moments after his twin sister, Esther Lynn. What should have been a day of celebration quickly turned to heartbreak when their mother passed away just hours after Eli was born. With no income and already caring for three other children, their father was overwhelmed and desperate. The situation was so dire, there was talk of selling the newborn twins just to survive. But God had another plan. As soon as Pastor Marc heard about the crisis, he intervened. The twins were brought into the care of ARISE Children’s Village, where they were welcomed with compassion and given their names—Eli Sterling and Esther Lynn. Eli now lives in House 1A with his sister, under the loving care of Milorvena Joseph and Joseph Max Desgazons. He is growing into a joyful, thriving little boy whose life is a powerful reminder that even in the darkest beginnings, redemption is possible.
