Trotsky
My Story
Trotsky Laguerre is the older brother of twins Eli and Esther. Their family is from Grand Goave, and life took a tragic turn when their mother passed away shortly after giving birth to the twins. Left with no income and no support, their father faced the unbearable—considering selling the newborns just to survive. Thankfully, Haiti ARISE stepped in and brought Eli and Esther into the safety of the Children's Village. But Trotsky’s story didn’t end there. Just a few months later, it became clear that Trotsky, too, was living in a desperate situation. He was without proper care, stability, or access to education. A concerned friend advised his father to reach out to Haiti ARISE once more. After a careful assessment by our social worker, it was clear Trotsky needed help urgently. On January 8, 2023, Trotsky was welcomed into the Children’s Village—where he was finally reunited with his twin siblings.
Today, Trotsky is thriving in the loving care of the Desgazons family. Together again, these three siblings now have the chance to grow up safe, loved, and full of hope for what’s ahead.
