My Story

Maria, Deseline, and Natacha are three sisters from Molest Nicolas in northwest Haiti—the youngest of 14 siblings. Their family was shattered when their mother died giving birth to their youngest sibling, the 15th child. Just five months later, their grief-stricken father passed away as well. After losing both parents, the children were separated and placed with different relatives. The three sisters were given to a relative who soon realized they couldn’t properly care for them. During a mission trip to the area, Madame Fenelon’s sister heard their story and connected with Wilson, our social worker, who arranged for the sisters to join ARISE Children’s Village. When they first arrived, two of the girls were anemic, and all three suffered from skin irritations and severe malnutrition. Today, Maria, Deseline, and Natacha are thriving and growing strong under the loving care of the Frédéric family—together, finding healing and hope for the future.
