My Story

Jean Samuel’s story began with abandonment—but it didn’t end there. In the summer of 2017, he was brought to Haiti ARISE by an adult seeking help, but before our social worker could even get their name, the adult disappeared—leaving Jean Samuel at our gate, alone. ​Though his beginning was uncertain, his future is full of promise. Since coming into ARISE Children’s Village, Jean Samuel has been growing up fast, surrounded by love, stability, and care.​ Today, he’s a joyful, energetic boy who loves playing with trucks and cars—a simple joy that speaks volumes about how far he’s come.
