My Story

Jameson Louis was one of six children being raised by their single mother in Anse à Veau. In June 2019, tragedy struck when Jameson’s mother fell ill and passed away, leaving behind two boys and four girls in devastating poverty. At just 14 months old, Jameson was found lying under a tree in the sun during his mother’s funeral—severely malnourished and without a caregiver. A family friend from Grand Goâve was moved with compassion and asked the grandmother if she could take him in. Though she had good intentions, she lacked the financial means to provide for him. She brought Jameson to the Haiti ARISE Clinic for nutrition care, where the clinic manager, seeing the severity of his condition, recommended he be placed in the Children’s Village. The guardian agreed.
