Deseline is one of three sisters from Molest Nicolas in northwest Haiti, the youngest among 14 siblings. Her world changed forever when her mother died giving birth to their youngest sibling, and just five months later, her father passed away, overwhelmed by grief. After losing their parents, Deseline and her sisters were separated and placed with different relatives. Deseline was taken in by a family member who soon realized they couldn’t provide the care she needed. During a mission trip to the area, Madame Fenelon’s sister learned about Deseline’s situation and contacted Wilson, our social worker, who arranged for her and her sisters to come to ARISE Children’s Village.
When Deseline arrived, she was severely malnourished and suffering from anemia and skin irritations. Today, she is safe, healthy, and thriving in the loving care of the Frédéric family—finding hope and a future she never thought possible.
